My name is Rebecca Gasper and I’m a sophomore at Marquette University, pursuing a major in biomedical sciences with dreams of becoming a dermatologist. At Marquette, I love going to basketball games (Go Golden Eagles!!), eating The Hangover burger at Sobelman’s, walking to Lake Michigan, and taking study breaks with my friends to Kopp’s.
I love traveling and am trying to visit all the U.S. National Parks in my lifetime (checked off 18/59 so far). I’ve traveled internationally a few times and find it’s the best way to learn about the world. I spent a week building houses in Antigua, Guatemala, traveled across Spain with my high school Spanish Club, and spent last winter break with my family in Rome, Venice, Munich, and Paris (best Christmas ever).
This semester, I continue to explore the world by studying abroad at Mahidol University International College! I chose to go to Thailand because I wanted a completely unique study abroad experience that would get me out of my comfort zone. I’m also tired of Wisconsin winters so was easily swayed to spend a few months in a tropical location. I hope to make new friends, eat authentic Thai cuisine, learn to speak Thai, and make amazing memories.
